The Buffet à Parfums - a modern version of the Orgue à Parfums
First of all, we ask you not to touch the bottles. If you absolutely must smell a bottle, ask the perfumer to show it to you specifically.
During the Perfume Creation Workshops we offer to people who want to have their own Personalized Perfume(s), but also every time we want to create a new Perfume for our Wall of Temptations, we use the superb "Perfume Buffet" you see in front of you.
This imposing buffet contains over 650 bottles, but please note that these are NOT perfumes, they're just "NOTES". Each note is a blend of several raw materials. Each perfumer has his own notes. It's these notes that are used to create a perfume.
As you can imagine, you can't mix just anything with just anything! Just because you like 2 notes doesn't mean they go well together! It's a bit like inviting your 2 best friends over - it doesn't mean they'll get along! When creating a perfume, the important thing is to choose the right things that go together and that you like the result! A good perfume is not the sum of several notes you like, but a harmony of notes that speak to you!
As you can see, there are 3 levels to this buffet. In reality, a complex perfume tells a story that has a beginning, a main plot and an end. It's the same with a Complex Fragrance: it will evolve over the course of the day. This evolution goes by the magical name of the "Olfactory Pyramid".
So, when you put it on, it will first smell of something for a few minutes, the beginning of your story, called the Top Notes. Then he'll smell something else for 2 to 3 hours, the Heart Notes. This is the middle of your story. For the rest of the time, you'll smell something else, the end of your story. During our "Ateliers Découverte", i.e. to create a Complex Perfume, we explain these different "floors of the Olfactory Pyramid" in greater depth, of course.
The funny thing is that when we create a perfume, we start with the end, then the middle and finish with the beginning of the story. So smelling a finished perfume is the opposite of creating it! It takes several hours to create a complex perfume, but don't worry, our workshop participants never see the time go by, it's so much fun! We have children as young as 6 and people over 80 taking part with no problem at all!
In addition to the Complex Perfumes, we also offer our visitors a SOLIFLORE Perfume Creation Workshop for the Blind. It's much easier, but just as beautiful! In about 1h30, you'll leave with a beautiful perfume that reflects you. Something not everyone has!
