The 7 Senses Concept of Ô Paradis des Sens
ÔÔ Paradis des Sens is first and foremost a place where innovation is very important. We try to make you understand the senses in a fun way. We're interested in 7 Senses: the 5 you know, but also INTUITION, which is a very important sense when you're creating something.
We think the 7th sense is very important, especially in this day and age. It's the sense of HUMOR! When you laugh and smile, you're more relaxed, and then all the other senses can "work" better!
You've probably noticed that there's a magic mirror in the main hall, another here in the Salle Nicolas FLORINE and a small one in the WC. These magic mirrors are amusing because they play tricks on you, making you lose 5 to 10 kg like the one in this room, but the aim isn't just Humor with a capital "H", it's also a message we like to get across. We want you to understand that just because you're looking at someone who's too fat, too thin, too short or too tall doesn't mean you should stop thinking just because they're too fat, too thin, too short or too tall. If you look at them from another angle, in this case thanks to the magic mirrors, they can be very good, very beautiful ... so in a word, it's worth "scratching" a little to appreciate someone who at first glance didn't seem "beautiful" to you.
The painting "Cascade" (1961) by Dutch illusionist Maurits Cornelis ESCHER (1898-1972), but also the one showing a couple, or any of the other paintings we propose in this room, should invite you not simply to accept things as you perceive them at first glance. Sometimes you can perceive different things, or several things, in the same work! The message we want to get across is not to stop at the first impression, but to try to understand that two people can "receive" the message differently. The same applies to smells and tastes! It all depends on how your brain is used to working..
